These terms govern every letter ordered from Courio, through the website, the REST API or the MCP server. Paying for a
letter means accepting the version of these terms published on the day of payment. A quote or a letter-creation response
carries a terms_url field pointing to this page.
1. Who sells
The service is operated by Tallandier Holding, a French simplified joint-stock company with a single shareholder (SASU) with a share capital of €1,000, registered office 8 rue Aristide Briand, 67450 Mundolsheim, France, registered with the Strasbourg Trade and Companies Register under number 951 743 178, referred to as “Courio”, “we” or “us”. Full company details are on the legal notice.
2. The service
Courio prints a document (a PDF, or text that we lay out as a PDF), puts it in an envelope and hands it to a postal
operator, at the service level chosen in the quote: standard letter, tracked letter, registered letter, or registered
letter with proof of delivery. Depending on the destination, the letter is printed by a partner printer or by our own team
(the quote then says fulfillment: "manual" and gives a longer delivery estimate).
3. Who the customer is
The customer is the person or organisation who pays for the letter. When an AI agent or any other software orders a letter, it does so on behalf of that person or organisation, who is bound by these terms. The agent must show its user the price, the recipient, the document and these terms before payment.
4. Quote and order
- A quote is free, commits to nothing and mails nothing. Its price is fixed for 24 hours.
- The order is formed when the payment is confirmed: by the Stripe Checkout page (card) or by a settled x402 payment (USDC).
- Before paying, the customer checks the recipient’s address, the sender’s address and the document. We print the document as sent and do not correct it.
5. Price and payment
- Prices are in euros, all taxes included (VAT included). A US dollar amount is also given for x402 payments.
- The price depends on the destination, the number of pages, the service level and the printing options. It is shown in the quote, before any payment.
- A single letter cannot cost more than €50.
- Payment is made per letter, by card on Stripe Checkout, or in USDC on the Base network through the x402 protocol when that method is offered. There is no subscription.
- After a card payment, Stripe emails the invoice to the address given on the payment page. For an x402 payment, or for an invoice with other company details, write to support.
6. Immediate performance and right of withdrawal
The letter is printed and mailed right after payment. By paying, the customer expressly asks for the service to be performed immediately, before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period, and acknowledges that they lose their right of withdrawal once the letter has been mailed, as the service is then fully performed (French Consumer Code, article L221-28, 1°).
As a result, a letter cannot be cancelled or changed once paid. Please check everything before payment.
7. Refunds
The full price is refunded when we cannot mail the letter, in particular when:
- no printer or postal operator can take the letter after payment;
- our printing partner rejects or fails to process the letter;
- the content is refused after payment (see section 8).
Card payments are refunded automatically to the card used, through Stripe; the funds usually appear within 5 to 10 business days, depending on the bank. x402 payments are refunded by hand, in USDC, to the wallet that paid.
A letter that has been mailed is not refunded, including when it is returned because the address given by the customer was wrong or incomplete, or because the recipient refused it or did not collect it.
8. Content and moderation
The customer is solely responsible for the content of the document and for having the right to send it. It is forbidden to send content that is illegal, threatening, harassing, defamatory, fraudulent, or that impersonates a public authority, a court, a bailiff or any other person.
Every document is checked when it is quoted, by automated rules and an automated classification (an AI model, see the
privacy policy). A refused document gets no quote and nothing is charged; the error returned says
so (content_rejected). We may also refuse a letter after payment if a manual check reveals forbidden content:
it is then not mailed and is refunded in full. To contest a refusal, write to support with the quote or letter id.
9. Delivery, carrier loss and proofs
- Delivery times are estimates given by the postal operators; they are not guaranteed.
- Once handed to the postal operator, the letter travels under that operator’s conditions. If a tracked or registered letter is lost or damaged by the operator, we file the claim with it on the customer’s behalf and pass on any compensation it pays.
- For a consumer, this does not limit our liability for the proper performance of the contract, including by our subcontractors (French Consumer Code, article L221-15).
- Proofs of mailing and of delivery, when the service includes them, are kept for 10 years and can be downloaded through the letter status.
10. Liability
Postal services cannot guarantee a delivery date. When a letter must arrive before a legal or contractual deadline, send it early enough, with a service level that gives proof. For professional customers, our liability is limited to the price paid for the letter concerned, and does not cover indirect losses (such as a missed deadline or a lost opportunity). Nothing in these terms limits the statutory rights of consumers.
11. Personal data
How we process addresses, documents and proofs is described in the privacy policy.
12. Contact and support
Write to support@courio.si, with the letter_id (or
quote_id) when there is one. We answer within 2 business days. Postal address: 10 rue des Abeilles,
75000 Paris, France. Phone: +33 3 88 20 10 20.
13. Disputes and applicable law
These terms are governed by French law. In case of a dispute, please contact support first. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory rules of their country of residence. For professional customers, the courts of Strasbourg have sole jurisdiction.
14. Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to a letter is the one published on the day it was paid. The date of the current version is shown at the top of this page.
